Planting our garden

With such a beautiful weekend we decided to plant our garden. We had to trim some grass and weed the gardens before we planted. Gracie and Luke were both such big helpers. They picked up my weeds and put them in the wagon to be wheeled off. Here are the kids playing in the dirt before planting the seeds. Hopefully we will get some good crops this year.

Iron Pigs baseball game

We had so much fun the first time we went to an Iron Pigs game that we decided to take Grammy and Pop Pop Joe this time. We could not have asked for a nicer day. It was hot but a great day for a game.
Here come Ferrous and FeFe.

Ferrous and FeFe getting in shape with the military.

Go FeFe.

Signing the Star Spangled Banner.

The kids were very hot and they needed a snack right away. We found some snowballs(snow cones in a bowl). These were great. They never had them before and they kept the kids busy for about an hour.

Look at our blue tongues.

Luke drinking his juice.

Let's play ball.

In between innings they really get the crowd into the game. Here is a ham bone, bacon, and a hot dog racing.

I love this girl so much and she is just too darn cute. Soccer season started the first week of April and as much as she loves going I think she has kicked the ball 5 times(and that is probably all kick ins from the side lines, LOL). She has a huge grin on her face the whole time and just runs after everyone. I was talking to her coach today and he is like don't worry as long as she still enjoys it. He said his son was the same way until one day he accidentally got hit with the ball and the ball bounced into the goal so he was thrilled that he scored a goal and that was all it took. Gracie is just too nice to play an aggressive sport. But I must admit I don't care if she doesn't touch the ball. There was a mother from the other team today who actually took her daughter back to the parking lot(which wasn't too far behind where I was sitting) and started yelling at her daughter to kick the ball and get involved. She was loud enough that I am sure all the parents heard her. I was sitting there like OMG no wonder she doesn't like the game.

My crazy Friday Oops

OMG, I just wanted to crawl back in bed. Got Gracie up for school about 6:45. They had May Crowning in school and I thought it was at 10 and that I could hit the store quickly for a few things before she got out of school at 12. I come to find out that the May Crowning was at 10:30 and I wouldn't have enough time after the ceremony to go to the store. So I rush to get myself and Luke ready. I really wanted to cut Luke's hair since it really needed it and I knew it would be a busy weekend. So I pull out the clippers and I pull out the right length clipper thingy, plug it in and off I go. I take one swipe of his hair and crap I realized that I forgot to change the clipper thingy and instead of doing 3/8" I am cutting his hair 1/8", AHHH. It is adorable but really short, can't forget the sunblock or hat.

So, after I relaxed from the hair cut and realize it will be fine I went to put his car outfit on him in the morning and I couldn't find the matching shoes. Just last week or 2 weeks ago I had to re buy the hat since I couldn't find it and now I can't find the shoes. It dawns on me that the last time or I should say the only time I remember him wearing the hat and shoes together was for pictures. Needless to say I found both the missing hat and shoes on Gracie's dresser under some headbands and stuff. So I am so happy that I found them but sad that I now have 2 hats and even sadder since I return the shirt yesterday since it had threads coming loose, it happened while he was wearing it for May Crowning.

And Gracie did a wonderful job with her reading for May Crowning. I am so proud of her that she got up in front of everyone and did so well.

Gracie and her Pulpit

Gracie was chosen to do a reading during May Crowning for school. It was between her and another girl and Miss O'Donnell decided to let them both read. She was so excited that she has come up with her own Pulpit. Talk about being creative.

Luke after Nap

I went up to get Luke from his nap and he was just nice and warm and so snuggly. I opened his blinds and the sun was just pouring into his room. I had to go and get my camera and see what he would do. He was not very fond of me doing this he would have much rathered just snuggling with me in his bed.

How to carry pinecones

While walking home from the bus stop the kids needed to stop at pinecone playground(where all the pinecones go to play, LOL). They both wanted to carry about 20 home. Gracie finally figured out how to get some home.

Grandma's Surprise 80th Birthday Party

Grandma turned 80 this April and we were invited to her surprise party on Mother's Day. We decided to take the trip slow and make a couple of stops at rest areas to eat and let the kids run. Of course it was a little cooler than I was hoping so we weren't too into being outside. It was still a great chance for everyone to stretch their legs.

Here she comes. Grandma was told that it was a surprise Mother's Day brunch for Becky since it is her first Mother's Day. So she really had no idea what was going on.

Gracie being very silly with some pom poms.

Abbie and Gracie peeking in on the party. I had a really cute one with the girls and Luke, but he had his finger up his nose so I decided not to post that one).

Grandma blowing out her candle.

And I have to mention Luke's favorite part of the party. We were sitting inside the church when we hear the fire alarm go off(there is a fire station right across the street). Luke jumped up and looked out the window. After we realized that it is a volunteer station I decided to take the kids outside to watch for the firetrucks to come out. All the guys got there and we waited, door number 1 opened with the fire truck, door number 2 opened with another truck, and door number 3 did not open. Luke was excited to see the truck but now whenever you mention this to him he just says that door number 3 is not working. It was really funny.
