DISNEY ON ICE CELEBRATIONS

I knew before moving to VA that Disney on Ice was coming to the area. Yesterday BJ and I decided to take them. It was a total surprise to them. Gracie didn't know anything until well after we walked into the Coliseum. It was too cute to see the reactions on their faces. They had a great night. Luke cried the whole way home that he wanted to see more.

Mommy & Gracie before the show. Look at her face, that is how excited she was the whole night.

Everyone coming out.

The costumes are just amazing. These are all broomsticks from Fantasia.

Another Park Day

The kids finally are able to go down the fireman pole all by themselves(or should I say have
enough courage to do so).

And notice how Luke is not very fearful unless his sister is around.

A half decent picture of the kids by the lake.

Some bribery pictures

Luke absolutely loves to play dress up with Gracie even in the sandbox. In about 15 years he will hate me for this one.

Dress up in the rain

Who says you can't play dress up in the rain? They were using the tote at a drum and splashing their hands in the water. They were having such a good time chasing each other on the wet grass, falling over, and then just laughing.

Gracie's First Day of 1st Grade

Gracie has anxiously been awaiting this day. She was going to be going to a bigger school which meant more friends and a lot more fun things to do. Here she is hamming it up for the camera before we left for the bus.
But I will let everyone know that the first day of school did not end so well. Gracie's bus has a total of 2 stops so you can imagine how many kids get on and off at each stop. So that was a little frightening for her. But not a big deal. Until, she didn't get off the bus after school. I was frantic and wasn't sure what to do. Do I wait at the stop, go to the school, go home. AHHH. I had my cell phone with me just in case the school tried to reach me for whatever reason. So Luke and I hopped back in the car(it was raining) and called the school. It felt like hours but I am sure it was about 15 minutes until they finally tracked her down. Her teacher whom she really likes so far had put her on the wrong bus. I was so happy that she didn't get off anywhere and just stayed put. We were both a big mess when I picked her up but I was so happy to have her in my arms.

Last day of summer vacation

We had a beach day planned for Gracie's last day before school but it decided to rain instead. So Gracie wanted to go bowling. This was the first time for Luke to really bowl and Gracie hasn't bowled for almost 2 years. We had such a good time.

Our day at the playground

We are so happy to have a few nice playgrounds around us. This one is really nice with 3 play areas, a bike/running/walking path, and is in full sun.
Trying to keep cool.

The new way to swing.

Taking a break.

Gracie climbed to the top of the tower.

Luke peeking at me.

I was trying to have the kids peek out of the holes at me and I got this perfect shot of Gracie then this other little girl looked out at me.
